Nantes is a city in western France, located on the Loire River, 50 km (31 mi) from the Atlantic coast. Nantes is the capital of the Pays de la Loire region, as well as the Loire-Atlantique department. It is also the most important city of the historic province of Brittany, and culturally still remains strongly identified with it.
Le Puy du Fou (from the name of the place which translates as "the hill of the beech", from puy and fagus) is a historical theme park in Les Epesses (between Cholet and La Roche-sur-Yon, approximatly 1 hour from Nantes) in the heart of the Vendée region of Western France. The park brings in some 1.5 million visitors every year, making it the fourth most popular attraction in France after Disneyland Paris.
Planète Sauvage is a safari park situated near Port-Saint-Père, France. It has about 130 hectares (320 acres) of land, where 1,000 animals live in semi-liberty. It opened in 1992.
