Britain’s Heritage is second to none and one of the richest and most diverse of any country in the World. Palaces and Castles are abundant with many of them accessible to the public.  Whether your interest is in the splendour of historical palaces, or medieval ruins, or even the remotest aspects of our history there is plenty to choose from.

The most obvious are of course the Royal Palaces, such as Buckingham Palace which has a variety of tours throughout the year, Kensington Palace which has been a Royal residence since 1689, and Hampton Court Palace, one of Henry VIII’s favourites. Add to that historic favourites such as the Tower of London, Kew Gardens, Windsor castle, Shakespeare’s Globe theatre and hundreds more all over the country and you can see it could keep you busy for years!

With the growth in interest, appreciation, and indeed efforts in protecting our heritage over the past years there is now so much more to choose from, and with this the quality and enjoyment in visiting these splendid sites is increased tremendously.

I have been visiting historic palaces for years and the improvement in the quality of presentation has been really noticeable. No longer the stuffy and library quiet tours, now many of these glorious heritage sites are presented in a much more interesting, colourful and exciting way.
