London Duck Tours - Landmarks Tour
Combine the best of both worlds for the ultimate sightseeing experience! Using quirky yellow DUKWs to take you through the streets of London, then transferring to the comfort of a City Cruise craft to enjoy the sights of the river, this is a superb way to see London! Whether you're a first time visitor, or a born and bred Londoner, as Dr Johnson said "If you’re tired of London, you're tired of life" and we're never tired of London!
The Classic Road and River Landmarks tour will show you around the most iconic and best loved of London’s sights. This is the London of picture postcards, film sets, and history books – London in a nutshell!
By Road - Setting off from our Duck stop on the Southbank we’ll lead you past the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and the home of the Prime Minister, 10 Downing Street. We’ll trot past Horse Guards then onto Trafalgar Square, a tribute to Nelson. Next, the refined streets around St James’s Palace, packed with gentleman’s clubs, shops fit for a King and the hotel that takes the biscuit, The Ritz! But still there’s more! How about the head office of our Royal family, Buckingham Palace*, Tate Britain and finally our not so secret intelligence HQ’s, MI5 & MI6.
By River - transfer to the Thames! A short waddle from the Duck and you're on a City Cruise** boat for your voyage to Tower Bridge and back. Sit back, relax and make yourself comfortable as you are guided along the historic Thames, the ancient thoroughfare of London, giving you tons of time to get out the camera and enjoy those sights. Starting at the London Eye we'll pass sights including St Paul’s Cathedral, London Bridge, HMS Belfast, Tate Modern, The Globe Theatre, the Shard, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Step off and enjoy the sights before returning back to the London Eye.
You have the choice of doing either the Road OR River first BUT please ensure that you arrive with enough time to take your Road Tour as these timings can not be amended.

London Duck Tours offer more than just a sightseeing tour; it's an exciting road and river adventure appealing to visitors of all ages! The amphibious craft, originally known as 'DUKWS', were first used for the D-Day landings when more than 21,000 were built to take the troops ashore.
To reflect their amphibious nature they have been renamed 'Ducks' for the London adventure. Departing from Chicheley St. Waterloo (behind the London Eye), the amphibious vehicles drive past famous London landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Trafalgar Square before a dramatic launch into the River Thames from London Duck Tours own slipway at Vauxhall for the waterborne part of the 75 minute tour of London.
The excitement of seeing London in this novel way is enhanced by an entertaining, action packed commentary by tour guides providing an alternative view of London's history, plus fascinating facts and figures about the DUKW vehicles themselves. Today's vehicles bear little resemblance to their military predecessors in their eye catching yellow livery.
An initial fleet of five vehicles have been totally rebuilt to meet the stringent safety regulations set by the D.E.T.R. and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (M.C.A). The vehicles have been extensively refurbished and fitted with the latest environmentally friendly 4.0L diesel engines, seating for 30 passengers, a public address system and regulatory safety equipment.
London Duck Tours have created an exciting adventure for visitors to London taking in the sights by road and river. No one has ever seen anything like it before on the streets of London, let alone the river!
