Tenerife

Tenerife is the largest and most popular of the seven Canary Islands and is a perfect place for all of the family and for those looking for great night life as well.

One of Tenerife's top resorts, Puerto de la Cruz is on the north coast of the island. Both Spanish and island traditions are evident in the former fishing village. Its Sardine Festival and annual Carnival are two highlights of life on the island. Busy, narrow streets of the Old Town, packed with colonial architecture, make walking a safer bet than driving. Attractions include Lago Martianez, the casino, Parrot Pool, the Banana Plantation & the Botanical Gardens, which date back to 1788 and the famous Loro Park

Playa de las Americas, near Tenerife's southwestern tip, is a lively, upbeat resort built in the 1960s. Today it's crammed with British restaurants, bars and hotels and North European tourists. Its white sands attract hordes of sun worshippers, while nearby El Medano is famed for its windsurfing. Top attractions include sailing, golf and dinner theatre shows, but it's the nightlife on Veronica's Strip that is the top draw for the crowds of young tourists who flock here to party around the clock.
Santa Cruz, Arona, Los Christianos and Adeje are all well worth a visit as each region has its own special attractions to draw the crowds.

Siam Park near Adeje won best European park of 2012 and definately should be top of your places to visit. Bus services are good to get around the island but car hire is very reasonable too and best of all is the duty free shopping still available there. Golf, boat trips, water parks, water sports and zoo and animal parks make Tenerife a number One tourist destination with more sunshine you could ever ask for!  

Strongly influenced by the tribal culture of the Guanches (the original inhabitants), Tenerife was conquered by the Spanish 500 years ago. It's home to Mount Teide, Spain's tallest peak, and to the popular beach resort of Los Gigantes. Today visitors flock to Loro Park to see tropical birds, to Tenerife Zoo Monkey Park and Siam Water park all great attractions for all of the family.
