We met our Grandson who lives in Windsor, on Westminster bridge at 11am on Sunday 5 July and collected our boarding tickets from the booth by the river without much difficulty and were on the 11.30am boat. There were quite a lot of people on board but there was plenty of room on top deck and inside under cover. We had a commentary - from one of the quite knowledgeable staff, telling us some of the history of the river, and pointing out the sites on left and right. Most European languages were catered for by plugging into a power point and using headphones. The River Rover ticket is for a full day and has a hop on/hop off service. Some passengers alighted at Tower Bridge and a few came aboard. We went all the way to Greenwich which with stops took around 1hr 20mins from Westminster.
The cafeteria on board is good and provides snacks, coffee and soft drinks. Toilets are clean. Safety advice is given out after every stop beltand there are life
